The American Rescue Plan Act gave Reno County a one-time opportunity to make a significant investment in child care. Through years of community listening and collaboration, Reno County was ready to act.
From 2022–2026, more than $8 million in local, state, and federal funding helped stabilize providers, expand child care capacity, strengthen the workforce, and test new approaches to some of our community’s most persistent child care challenges.
As ARPA funding comes to an end, the work moves into its next phase—using what was learned to help shape a stronger, more sustainable child care system for Reno County.
