CHOOSING A PROVIDER
Choosing the right provider to fit your family can be intimidating, here are some things to look for when visiting a child care center.
1
How does the provider speak with children? Do they speak with them at the children’s eye level by sitting, crouching, or kneeling? Do they greet each child?
2
Look at the classroom layout. Can the providers always see the children?
4
Do the outdoor and indoor spaces used for play look safe? Are the play equipment and toys clean and in good condition? Do they look safe and appropriate?
5
Do the teachers/providers and children frequently wash their hands?
6
Are there sounds of laughter and children playing?
